Abstract

Due to the development of minimally invasive techniques, arthroscopic technique has become increasingly important to clinical surgeons, even for small hand joints such as the metacarpophalangeal joint. Although the technique of metacarpophalangeal arthroscopy has not been popularized for a variety of reasons, due to the unique advantages of metacarpophalangeal arthroscopy for the evaluation and treatment of metacarpophalangeal joints, more surgeons look forward to mastering this technology as soon as possible. Compared with other arthroscopic techniques, there are fewer reports on metacarpophalangeal arthroscopy. Therefore, this article discussed and summarized the applied anatomy, surgical approaches, indications, contra-indications, surgical techniques, and postoperative care of metacarpophalangeal arthroscopy, and combined with the author's years of surgical experience.
