Abstract
There are several non-surgical and pharmacologic strategies for the management of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs). They can be used alone or in combination for the management, where indicated. The goal is to decrease overloading of the masticatory system, pain/dysfunction and promote healing. The treatment for TMDs should initially begin with conservative and pharmacological management followed by invasive methods, if required.
