Abstract

Arthroscopy of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) has shown a tremendous evolution in the recent past with basic and advanced arthroscopy being practiced. With minimal instrumentation, basic arthroscopy invovlving joint lavage and lysis may be carried out by the surgeons who are proficient with intraarticular arthroscopic anatomy. This chapter edifies the technique and requirements to perform a successful TMJ arthroscopy for basic diagnostic and therapeutic purpose.
