Coal-burning Type of Endemic Fluorosis

Abstract

The endemic fluorosis is a systemic chronic disease. The excessive fluoride intake inflicts poisoning on practically all organs and tissues. Cardiovascular system injury triggered by fluorosis is the major manifestation of fluoride-induced non-bone damage. The investigation concerning the injury mechanism of fluoride on cardio-vascular system would further identify the non-bone damage induced by fluoride and its role in fluorosis pathogenesis. This chapter is devoted to the overall introduction of latest research on fluoride damage on cardiovascular system, and preliminary analysis on possible pathogenesis of its effect on cardiovascular system.
