Abstract

Based on core observation, casting thin section identification, SEM, mercury injection and other experimental analysis techniques, the reservoir characteristics and controlling factors of Feixianguan Formation, Luojiazhai high sulfur gas field, northeastern Sichuan Basin were studied. Results show that the reservoir rocks in the study area mainly include oolitic dissolved pore dolomite, sand clastic dissolved pore dolomite, fine silt-crystalline dolomite and some oolitic limestone. Four major categories of reservoir space types include primary pores, secondary dissolved vugs, fractures and throats and 11 subcategories are identified. The median value of porosity and permeability are 7.8% and 2.170 mD respectively, indicating that it is a middle-low porosity and low permeability reservoir. The distribution of oolites and the degree of dolomitization in the study area is controlled by sedimentation. The properties of the platform marginal facies oolitic reservoir in the east area are significantly better than those of the slope facies reservoirs in the west area. Compaction and cementation play a destructive role in reservoir reconstruction, whereas the dolomization and dissolution play a constructive role.
