Abstract

The benefits of early integration of palliative care in the continuum of care in patients with advanced cancer are well established. Palliative care follows the holistic approach and deals with physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and financial aspects. Palliative care services in advanced cancer help by palliating symptoms and improving the overall quality of life and satisfaction. It provides a common platform for patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team to discuss and set the goal of patient care. End-of-life care aims at symptom control, improving both qualities of life and quality of dying, a good death, and dying with dignity. Thus, palliative, EOL, oncology, and critical care should be integrated as early as feasible.
