Polarimetric Microwave Imaging

Abstract

Polarimetric SAR can obtain more abundant target information compared to ordinary single-polarized synthetic aperture radar. However, the addition of polarimetric ability increases the complexity of SAR system greatly, which imposes demanding requirements for antenna technology, data download rate, and power consumption. Compact polarimetry (CP) technology is a new technique proposed to reduce the complexity of full PolSAR system [1–4].
