Abstract
Uterine contraction (UC) (Fig. 2.1) is the main force of labor and occurs throughout labor. Post-parturient UC shortens the cervical canal until it disappears, dilates the uterine orifice, makes fetal presentation descend, and promotes the delivery of the fetus and placenta. Post-parturient UC is manifested as labor pains.
