This paper provides some new perspectives on creative transformations in human society. It takes a historical view of these transitions and creative transformations that have been occurring over long period of time. As a case study transitions in Indian society have been presented in terms of its long journey from Sapt-sindhu (regions of seven rivers, viz. Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu, Kaveri) to its extensions beyond India to Sapt-sindhu (seven seas) across the world. In this journey tradition, modernity and spirituality find a new blending and convergence through ‘spiritually guided modernity’, as well as a new vision for the contemporary global society.
