Abstract
Professor Hang Qian holds a Ph.D. in history. He is a professor and doctoral supervisor in Department of History at the School of Humanities and Communications, Shanghai Normal University. He is also an adjunct professor and doctoral supervisor in Department of History at East China Normal University. Professor Qian serves as a member of the academic board and an adjunct researcher at Centre for Historical Anthropology at Sun Yat-sen University, which is a national key research base. He is also an executive director at China Society of Social History. His research interests are history of Chinese society, clan system history, historical anthropology, and historical geography.
