Abstract
Pulmonary mucormycosis is a life-threatening opportunistic mycosis that can infect a wide range of hosts with immune defects, including patients with severe neutropenia, receiving corticosteroids or other immunosuppression. Unlike pulmonary aspergillosis, the prognosis of pulmonary mucormycosis has not improved significantly in the past decade, mainly due to the difficulty of early diagnosis and the limited activity of current antifungal drugs on mucormycosis.
