Mapping Public Health Scenario

Abstract

Health condition is an indicator of economic and social well-being and also a contributor to gaining socio-economic betterment. The health condition of the population is inherently linked with a variety of factors related to society, economy, and policies. We have calculated the life curve and the life expectancy from the field datasets. It demonstrates and analyzes the inequality of health within the district. The difference in health condition between higher and lower economic strata has been examined.The analysis focuses the backwardness of the tribal communities in terms of health status. For the spatial analysis of public health, the present study uses the binomial logistic regression model. This model is based on the spatially linked predictors of health condition. The model predicts the categorical dependent variable, namely the Index of Health Status which is devised by combining three health indicators—Years of Life Lost (YLL), Indicator of Bad Health (IBH), and Satisfaction to Present Healthcare System (OHS). Finally, the Health Index (Ĥ) is calculated which signifies the spatial probability of good health. The public health scenario map has been prepared and interpreted accordingly.
