Abstract
According to the textual research of Mr Bo Sinian (傅斯年), “the word ‘mandate’ can be traced to the middle of the Western Zhou and reached ascendancy during the late Western Zhou. ‘Mandate’ (命) is the same word as ‘command’ (令) but in a different form.”
