Abstract
The World Health Organization (WHO) is entrusted with the position and roles required to lead global public health policies. Its policies and activities are prescribed by its Constitution. The policies of WHO are closely involved with the challenges of global public health. This chapter is concerned with the promotion of modern medicine which is one mission of WHO and those contradictions generated by current healthcare systems. First of all, the authors confirm that the mission of WHO is based on the Constitution of the organization Secondly, we discuss how the WHO definition of health has affected the mindset of people and that this mental impact is linked back to the mission of WHO, without any mutual contradiction. The globalized mission of WHO is a factor which promotes the spread of modern medicine and modern pharmaceutical products across the world.
