Abstract
Mitral stenosis (MS) is more common in women, with a male: female ratio from 2:3 to 3:4. Rheumatic fever is the most important cause of mitral stenosis [1], accounting for 80–90% of mitral stenosis. Other possible causes include infective endocarditis, mitral annular calcification (MAC), cardiac tumors, endomyocardial fibrosis (EMF), etc. Approximately, 25–40% of all patients with rheumatic heart disease have pure MS. This chapter introduces how to perform PAN procedure for mitral stenosis.
