Abstract
For the limit analysis on the soil mass, it is the most effective method to obtain the stress field of the soil mass in the limit equilibrium state. When the stress component is known, the limit load (limit soil pressure and ultimate bearing capacity) is only the value of the stress component at corresponding boundary. Moreover, the states of the stress field and slip surface family may be judged.
