Abstract

Breast tissue is sensitive to hormones as well as growth factors which cyclically affect the breast parenchyma and may result in a large range of benign breast conditions. Conditions like fibrocystic change, adenosis, and columnar cell change and benign breast tumors like fibroadenoma, hamartoma, and fat necrosis are the commonest cause of several findings on mammogram. It is important to understand these conditions and their likely imaging features to reduce false positive recalls and biopsies.
