This chapter reviews the previous chapters and makes a comparison between the three thinkers’ views as to the main question and research hypothesis and based on the methodology of the book.

The demonstrations of 5 June 1963 and 6 June 1963 in Iran were against the arrestment of Ayatollah Khomeini after a speech delivered by him during which he had condemned the king and Israel at the same time. The Shah’s regime was taken by surprise by some rallies which albeit were suppressed shortly by police and armed forces, indicated the significance and power of (Shia) religious opposition to Shah, and Khomeini as a prominent political and religious leader. Fifteen years later, Khomeini headed the Iranian Revolution which overthrew Shah and his regime and established the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A combination of centralism and democracy within a revolutionary party. The communist party sought to use this concept to centralise the leadership of the party and motivate obedience among the members in a manner that in addition to have the feeling of freedom they dynamically involve in execution of the orders of their leader.

An event during which 52 American diplomats and citizens were taken as hostage for 444 days (from November 4, 1979 to January 20, 1981).
