Wealth Gap Index Construction and Data Analysis

Abstract

In this chapter, the authors propose various wealth gap indexes using data on both micro and macro levels. A thorough descriptive analysis of the statistical distribution of China’s current social wealth gap is then conducted with the China Household Finance Survey (CHFS) database.
