Abstract

Complex civil litigation, such as private monopolization and patent infringement, often involves monetary remedies that must be quantified. This chapter analyzes a Tokyo High Court case decision on damages calculation in the private monopolization of Nipro Corporation (Nipro).

This Chapter is based on Koki Arai (2014) “Damage Calculation in Private Monopolization: A Case Study in Japan. “Journal of Competition Law and Economics, 10 (2), 505–516.
