Abstract
Deficits in social-emotional skills are linked to poor social adjustment, mental health problems and low self-concept. Poor social skills in school may be related to the following factors: limited opportunities to learn, negative academic and social self-concept and social isolation. Appropriate assessment and intervention strategies are described in this chapter for a child client.
