Abstract
Attention was first drawn to the occurrence of the differential formulal
in Bhāskara II’s (1150) Siddhāntaśiromaṇi by Pandit Bapu Deva Sastri1 in 1858. The Pandit published a summarised translation of the passages which involve the use of the above formula.
