Abstract

Precise preoperative planning is necessary for any surgical procedure to achieve an optimal therapeutic effect. Retrieving spinal alignment, horizontal vision, and global sagittal balance is recognized as the main surgical purpose for ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients with kyphosis deformity. Some authors have proved that reasonable restoration of sagittal plane is tightly associated with postoperative quality of life [1, 2]. In an attempt to increase clinical effect, we need to optimize postoperative spinal alignment.
