Abstract

Some population issues have long historical roots. The lowest level of fertility in Korea and Taiwan was attributed to the long-lasting family pattern. China repeated the failure to synchronize the economic and demographic developments. The different modes of agriculture in Korea and Taiwan had perpetual impacts on mobility. Different foreign policies resulted in different rates in increase of foreign population. The impact of population aging on economic development requires continuous observation.
