Abstract
In China, as the length of the oil pipelines increases, operation condition of the oil pump units has become one of the key factors affecting safe operation of pipeline systems. Up to now, in most operating trend analyses of oil pumps,a single characteristic parameter is used. This approach often cannot reflect the overall operating condition of the pump unit. In this paper, we derived a 3D centerline orbit from vibration signals at multiple measuring points and multiple channels, and then, based on the 3D orbit, extracted relative jerk value of centerline orbits at two ends of the shaft. This derived metric combines the parameters of phase the centerline orbit radius and can reflect the energy of the relative jerk value between shaft ends. An operating trend analysis was conducted on an oil pump unit using this metric. The results indicate that this approach can accurately and effectively predict the operating trend of rotor system. It can be a powerful tool in life and condition prediction of oil pump units.
