Abstract

This study takes up the Tenjin district, one core part of the city center commercial district of Fukuoka City, Japan, and clarifies what kind of parking policy should be adopted to increase the value of the Tenjin district as one business entity, through the analysis of micro data on visitors’ parking-lot usage and Kaiyu behaviors in the Tenjin commercial district of Fukuoka City.

This chapter is based on the paper, Saburo Saito, Takahiro Sato, Kosuke Yamashiro, Ken Takagi [1], “Estimating effects of establishment policy of parking lots at city center viewing from visitors’ behaviors who used parking,” Papers of the 24th Annual Meeting of The Japan Association for Real Estate Sciences, 2008, pp.169–176, which is modified for this chapter.
