Abstract

In this chapter the various inflammatory lesions, tumours and tumour-like lesions of the fallopian tube have been described with illustrations. The serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma is the precursor lesions of serous carcinoma of the tube. The common tumours of the fallopian tube include serous carcinoma, endometrioid carcinoma, mucinous carcinoma, transitional cell carcinoma and clear cell carcinomas. The various tumour-like lesions of the fallopian are tubal hyperplasia, tubo-ovarian abscess, salpingitis isthmica nodosa, placental site nodule, mucinous metaplasia, endometriosis and endosalpingiosis. These lesions are also described along with microphotographs.
