Abstract

This chapter on foreign investment law discusses the important aspects of the law to facilitate a better understanding of legal rules, values, and principles underlying foreign investment law. It consists of discussions on the issues relating to the governing legal regime of foreign investment, foreign investment entities, the establishment and requirement procedures of foreign investment enterprises, mergers and acquisitions by foreign entities, and termination and liquidation of foreign investment enterprises, among other things. Yu provides a perspective through which readers may learn to understand the law and the legal culture based on which foreign investment law was enacted.
