Abstract

Land ecological security (LES) evaluation is an essential process for land-use planning in China. Analyzing the LES status of rapid urbanization areas has a significant impact on decision-making of urban development. Based on the integration of ordered weighted averaging (OWA) and sensitivity analysis, this paper focuses on hightening the understanding of indictor weights’s influences to LES evaluation and assisting in making a suitable assignment of weights in Chengdu Plain Economic Zone. The results highlight how the statu of LES, in 2014, is closely linked to the administrator’s attitude and corresponding indictor weights. Particularly, compared the initial results with situations of the focus on key indicators (like population densit, Chemical fertilizer dosage and et al.) or non-key indicators (such as energy consumption and sewage treatment), There are at least 62.5% differences in the evaluation results of ecological safety level. Meanwhile, the sensitivity analysis confirms that the indictor weights of population density, Grain yield per hectare and agricultural mechanization level are sensitive parameters for LES results. Decision makers should focus on the effects and rationality, brought by weight changes of there indictors. These methodologies can reduce the uncertainty of results caused by weight assignment, and provide for formulating LES evaluation standards in this region.
