Abstract
The Trans-pacific partnership (TPP) is an international treaty between Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Vietnam, and the United States of America. Much has been written about the TPP and its positive effects on the Malaysian export economy. However, the opening of worldwide markets to Malaysian goods comes with a price. Stronger rules will be mandated for intellectual property and the enforcement of international copyright law. We examine specifically how this may affect the digital arts in Malaysia, in digital arts.
