Abstract
The ‘Tsunami Recovery Impact Assessment and Monitoring System’ (TRIAMS) was developed to identify the areas which have not been covered by the existing recovery programmes. It sought to address the unmet needs and prevents inequities in the allocation of funds resources for long-term rehabilitation. It was expected that the implementation of TRIAMS would lead to transparency, where the governments, donors, aid agencies, civil society, and other stakeholders could see the progress and recovery efforts in the tsunami-affected areas. This measure would help them to assist recovery programmes by data collection and analysis.
