Abstract

“The giant whale rests after many days a tranquil sea; Against a thousand sails the sun reflects as ships approach.” As early as in Qin and Han Dynasties, the Maritime Silk Road, an ancient maritime transportation artery connecting East and West was established. It was one of the oldest maritime routes known to man. This seaway, which was the crystallization of wisdom and courage of oriental nations, has long borne the responsibility for cultural and commercial exchanges between East and West.
