Abstract
A continuous-time signal can be represented by a discrete-time signal consisting of a sequence of samples \( x(n) = x_{a} (nT) \). It is often necessary to change the sampling rate of a discrete-time signal, i.e., to obtain a new discrete-time representation of the underlying continuous-time signal of the form \( x^{\prime}(n) = x_{a} (nT^{\prime}) \).
