Abstract

An integrated T-D power system, also known as a “global power system”, is shown in Fig. 2.1. As was discussed in Chap.  1, the TPS and the DPS are separately managed by a TCC and a DCC whose operational responsibilities are heterogeneous in that: (1) the TCC manages the voltages of the boundary bus while the DCC controls the power injections at the boundary bus, and (2) the TCC, which is usually interconnected with multiple DCCs, should also be in charge of the power balance and stability of the entire T-D system.
