Abstract
In recent years, a lot of foreign banks slowed down their pace of overseas business expansion. Although, they stood stronger in international market compared to Chinese banks, who were still at an early stage. This chapter analyzed and compared the international development achieved by Chinese and foreign banks in respects of BII ranking, scale of overseas business, overseas operation outcome and layout of overseas business network, in order to facilitate Chinese banks to be fully aware of their status quo and current market position. In the meantime, we also followed up the process of internationalization with the real-time data updating, and analyzed the new challenges and opportunities, to help Chinese banks to formulate the next step of internationalization strategy better.
