Abstract

There are lots of difficult problems on deep well drilling of Shuangyushi structure in Western Sichuan region, such as shallow leakage, variation of high–low pressure, fault development, indeterminacy on high-pressure brine, and poor drillability in some formation, seriously affected the drilling cycle. In order to decrease the downhole accidents and improve the drilling speed, this article has carried out a series of safety and fast drilling technology research and application, including optimization of wellbore structure to realize the geological target, optimization of drilling methods, the bits, and so on. Through using these technologies, great achievement was obtained. This study is of great significance for safety production and for cost decreasing and benefit increasing in deep well drilling of Western Sichuan region.
