Abstract

The transformer is one of the most important components in power system network. Because of its relatively simple construction, it is a highly reliable piece of equipment. Keeping design principle in mind the parameter of transformer was obtained by open circuit and short circuit tests, without actually loading the transformer, and these two assessed tests give the test results which are used to determine the equivalent circuit parameters. This paper presents the equivalent parameters from test data and significance H.V. or L.V. side in which the calculation to be performed, and then simulated same thing in MATLAB/Simulink. The comparison of simulated results and experimental results of open circuit and short circuit is shown.
