Abstract
What is a well-off society? On November 15, 2012, Xi Jinping, the newly elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, explained this strategic goal in the minds of the Chinese people in plain language: “There will be better education, more stable work, more satisfactory incomes, more reliable social security, a higher level of medical and health services, more comfortable living conditions, a more beautiful environment”, and “children can grow, work and live in a better way.”
