Abstract
Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) is a collection of mobile nodes communicating with each other without using any fixed infrastructure. Security is one of the most important issues in the MANET. In this paper we address the blackhole attack and proposed an innovative security model to handle this attack. Our proposed model supports Ad hoc on Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol which is the most widely used protocol in the MANET. The proposed model not only provides node authentication but also message authentication with low overhead.
