Abstract
The yield criteria of metallic materials that have the same strength both in tension and compression were discussed in Chap. 3, and a unified yield criterion was described. The unified yield criterion covers all the convex area from the lower bound (single-shear stress yield criterion, Tresca 1864) to the upper bound (twin-shear stress yield criterion, Yu M-H 1961a) .
