Abstract

Miller Fisher syndrome (MFS) is characterised by the triad of ataxia, areflexia and ophthalmoplegia. It is acute in onset and runs a monophasic self-limiting course. When the central nervous system involved as well, the condition is termed as Bickerstaff encephalitis. Infectious, immunological and neoplastic diseases can be associated with MFS. Anti-GQ1b IgG antibody titre is commonly elevated in MFS. Favourable outcomes with immunotherapy are known.
