Abstract

With increasing prevalence of colorectal cancer, local recurrence is becoming part of every colorectal surgeon’s practice. Treatment options has been limited in the past, and mainly limited to palliative intent. A recent advance in surgical technique has opened new options with curative intent. Extended resection allows for R0 resection with clear margins with acceptable morbidities.
