Abstract
A hull form is an outer shape of the hull that is streamlined in order to satisfy ship owner’s requirements such as deadweight, ship speed, and so on. A fundamental task of hull form design is to develop a hull form which has a good performance in the various aspects such as resistance, propulsion, maneuvering, and so on. This chapter describes how to perform hull form design, including generation, variation, fairing, and performance evaluation of the hull form.
