Abstract

In recent years, the growing world population and the expansion of settlements and developments over landslide-prone areas are increasing the impacts of landslide disasters on human lives and life-line facilities worldwide (Glade 1998). In addition, human activities offshore, especially in the Exclusive Economic Zones, also increase the potential risk of submarine landslide hazards.
