Abstract
The vagina, like the cervix, is generally considered to be suboptimally visualised on ultrasound. However, with proper technique and, if required with gel sonovaginography, it can be evaluated quite accurately on ultrasound.
In this chapter the visualisation of the normal vagina is briefly dealt with, following which is the discussion on vaginal cysts and vaginal masses, primarily vaginal carcinoma. Evaluation and images are available both on regular TVS and with GSV. Some information on foreign bodies in the vagina and vulval carcinoma has also been provided. Congenital vaginal anomalies and vaginal DIE have been discussed elsewhere in Chap. 12 (uterine anomalies) and Chap. 8 (endometriosis).
