Abstract
Ergonomics is the science of understanding human interaction and deals with designing methods to optimise human performance. The chapter discusses the meaning and need for decent ergonomics and then introduces its importance in the context of nature of work in IT industry. IT industry workspace is dominated by computer systems and employees working on it the whole day in sitting positions. The chapter guides as to how the furniture and the ambience can be improved to reduce the ill effects on health of this daily bodily posture.
