Abstract

This chapter introduces the concept of information economy which is the new age economy. Information channels are driving majority of the businesses and are the drivers of the service sector too. Information technology industry has evolved and developed at global level, and how it is redefining the workspace has been discussed in this chapter. The authors compare the present information age with the writings of prominent economists like Adam Smith and try to link both the ages.
