Abstract

Let G be a semisimple, connected algebraic group over an algebraically closed field k of arbitrary characteristic. Choose a maximal torus T in G and let QT be a parabolic subgroup of G. Denote the Weyl group of G by W and denote by W Q the Weyl group of Q with respect to T. We are going to prove in this more general context the equivalence of the partial orders on W/WQ stated in Chapter 2.
