Abstract
Agriculture is one of the most crucial factor in sustaining human life on Earth. Also, it is a source of occupation for majority of people in many countries. Various technologies have been developed to process the raw product of agriculture for business practices, but comparably very less advancements have been made to aid the farming process. This paper focuses on a system that automates the irrigation process of fields in a precise and efficient manner, keeping its cost in the budget of farmers. This system uses the moisture content in soil, location of farm on Earth, type of crop, level of standing water in fields, and temperature of air to calculate the water requirement of crops based on empirical data prestored in a database. Then appropriate amount of water is pumped to the fields, and the procedure repeats itself periodically.
