Abstract

With the expansion of cities and conversion of rural to urban areas, one of the most fundamental requirements is the installation of street-lighting. However with increased expansion, this also creates an extra load requirement that is not easily met by existing grid systems. This puts an undue stress on power production. A solution to this issue is proposed by a hybrid self-sustained solution for street lighting. This makes use of wind and solar energy. The focus of this paper is the fused converter topology used in our solution.
